Building a home is about realizing a dream. For many, that dream now seems out of reach. Domestead combines homesteading ethos, with modern day prefab technology and beautiful design, to make that dream achievable again.
Inspired by the legendary Buckminster Fuller and the reality of the world’s most popular rental, every Domestead combines adventure and architecture in a live-able two stories with 110 sq ft on the bottom and 90 usable sq ft in the dome loft for a total of 200 sq ft.
The upstairs dome provides a spacious bedroom capable of fitting a queen bed with a standing height of 7 ft. The downstairs houses a kitchenette and living space. Every Domestead has an optional off-the-grid solar and wind power system.
Domestead prefab design means it can be assembled on-site in a matter of hours without any cutting or waste. Every Domestead is created to deliver liveable, impeccably designed, affordable structures.
Domestead Plus

Geodesic domes are one of the strongest structures in the world, capable of withstanding hurricane force winds. This is achieved because external forces are distributed evenly across the entire structure.
Domestead Plus comes with an additional 8 ft x 4 ft module that can be used as an additional living space with room for a shower, vanity and toilet.
We built our first Domestead from scratch, using sketched plans and our bare hands in the desert of Joshua Tree, it wasn’t easy!
The challenge was to create something simple and accessible, that started with the strength and beauty of a dome, but yielded a home that could be built by two people with nothing more than a wrench and a power drill in a matter of hours, not weeks or months.
Precision Manufacturing
Today, each Domestead is built to order in our prefabrication factory. We are able to engineer every unit in a controlled environment with multiple quality control checks, and ship out a package that we know can be easily assembled on site.
Delivery
Your Domestead™ comes flat packed on a truck directly to your building site. Two people can unload the components from the truck.

Domestead™ Off Grid
The Domestead Off Grid options were inspired by our own goal to place the Domestead in a beautiful and remote location without leaving a damaging footprint. Our off grid systems allow Domesteaders to unplug from fossil fuels and create a space to plug into themselves and into the wild.
A huge benefit of Domestead Off Grid, is that by generating power from nature, many, if not all permitting requirements can be avoided. We combine solar and wind power systems to power everything you need in your Domestead™ such as the electric stovetop, fridge, and power outlets.
